噴涂廢水主要來自于預脫脂、脫脂、表調、磷化、鈍化等車身前處理工序;陰極電泳工序和中涂、噴面漆工序，汽車涂裝廢水中含有樹脂、表面活性劑、重金屬離子、顏料等污染物，特別是其中的電泳廢水、噴漆廢水成份復雜，濃度高，可生化性差。噴涂廢水處理主要采用分質處理、混凝沉淀、混凝氣浮、砂濾等工藝對噴涂廢水進行處理。
噴涂廢水處理的特征:①噴涂廢水處理種類多，水質因使用的材料而異，僅脫脂液就有多種配方、涂料種類則更多。②排放無規(guī)律，除部分水洗水連續(xù)溢流排放外，噴涂線廢水或廢液多為間歇集中排放。③水質水量變化大，無規(guī)律可循。
